Fellowship Opportunities

Wednesday nights are also a time set aside for special events, meetings, music rehearsals and gatherings to celebrate, fellowship and worship our Lord.

 

A traditional part of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church is the Adult Andrew Ministry Group.  This group has many responsibilities.  One they feel blessed to serve the most is providing fellowship to our adult members and their friends. In Matthew, we are called as Christians to gather together to share the joy and good news.  What better way to accomplish that than through trips, retreats, dinners, celebrations and food.

 

Some of our past outings have included the following:

 

Shakespeare plays are offered each summer through the Shakespeare Festival at Kilgore College.  Traditionally, a specific play is selected on a Sunday afternoon which we go together as a group to see.  After, we visit a local restaurant to break together as we eat a meal.

 

Jefferson, Texas offers beautiful candlelight tours during the Christmas season.  We try to take advantage of the season with a trip to tour the homes, see the lights of Marshall and eat together afterward.

 

Christmas caroling with cookies and hot beverages is always a favorite. Taking our joyful voices to our members who can not get out of their homes is a blessing indeed.

 

Other events we typically schedule may be a Valentine’s dinner; Easter morning breakfast between the Sunrise and traditional services; Pot Luck  lunches after the one service on a 5th Sunday of a month; 4th of July cook out; Chili Cook off Challenge in the Fall; and a Halloween Cake Walk.

 

We also enjoy celebrating special moments in the lives of our members by hosting diaper showers for newborns and their families; senior celebrations for high school students; and other special events that may occur during the life of the church.

 

There are also opportunities for men, women and families are offered through Spiritual Retreats and conferences by our Presbytery at the following:
